Car Paint

Top Tips to Follow

Few things ruin the look of a car more than damage to the paint. This isn’t an inevitability, though. There are lots of things you can do to protect your car paint! Here are a few of the ways to keep it looking as pristine as possible, along with what to do if our advice has come a little bit too late!

Look out for bird droppings

Bird droppings don’t just look horrible; they can actually seriously damage your car paint too. Not a lot of people know that bird droppings are actually highly corrosive. The longer they sit there on your car, the longer you are giving them to work their unwelcome magic on your paintwork. So as soon as you spot them, wash them off!

Wash your car regularly

The cleaner your car paint is, the more it will be able to stand up to daily wear and tear and any substances it comes into contact with. Ideally, you should be washing your car every week, but as long as you are doing it frequently, you will be giving the paint the support it needs to last as long as possible. Have a youngster at home? This could be a chance for them to earn some pocket money!

Give it a polish

Is your car paint looking a little bit dull? Can you see some small scratches here and there? Then it’s time to give it a good polish! Did you know that car polish has micro-fine abrasives in the formula? These are what give car paint that amazing shine without damaging it. A good polish will preserve your paint and help to protect it from the elements, so it really is a step you can’t skip.

Keep it covered

Where you park your car can have a huge impact on its paintwork. Ideally, you will want to park it in a garage, but we know that not everyone has that luxury. If you do have to park your car outside, then you will want to do so away from any trees. This will protect it from bugs and the aforementioned bird droppings. A car cover will give you peace of mind wherever it is parked.

If the above tips have come too late, then you don’t have to say goodbye to any hope of a beautiful car.
